Both the internal workings and activities of the group are well documented in this record group. The records, 1930-1965, include a constitution and by-laws, minutes, 1933-1952, reports of the club's presidents and treasurers committee reports, flower show material, bulletins, and clippings. Illustrative of some women's activities during the 1930's, 40's and 50's, the record group also provides insights into local Ann Arbor history. The records, left in their original order for the most part, reflect the organization and activities of the club.

Esther Boise Van Deman papers, ca. 1870-1936

Esther Boise Van Deman was an archaeologist, University of Michigan graduate (B.A. 1891, M.A. 1892) and archaeology faculty (1925-1930). Van Deman's main focus of work was the analysis of Ancient Roman building materials to establish chronologies of construction sites. Notes on lectures; photographs include portraits and images from archaeological excavations and travels, as well as personal photos.

This collection consists of notes on lectures of Herbert F. DeCou in classical archaeology given in Rome, 1901-1902. It also contains various portraits and snapshots, including photos from archaeological excavations and travels; and photos of homes and activities in Michigan and Ohio.

Post papers, largely concern labor-management relations, unionism, the Postum Company, currency reform, advertising, and matters of food and hygiene; Marjorie Merriweather Post papers document her social activities and travel, philanthropies art collections, and the maintenance and preservation of her homes and other possessions.

The Post family collection includes papers of businessman and food processor, C. W. Post, largely relating to labor-management relations, unionism, the Post Company, currency reform, advertising, and matters of food and hygiene; and papers, photographs, and sound recordings of his daughter, Marjorie Merriweather Post, General Foods executive and philanthropist, relating to social activities and engagements, philanthropies, and the maintenance and preservation of her homes and other possessions.

The C.W. Post papers consist of manuscript items and printed works created by C.W. Post and retained by his daughter, Marjorie Merriweather Post. The papers are arranged alphabetically by subject.
