The Campbell family collection includes correspondence and other family materials. Items of interest include Civil War correspondence of Gabriel Campbell and John S. Farnill; correspondence, diaries, and teaching materials of William Campbell; personal correspondence of Mary and Sarah (Sadie) Campbell concerning farming, local Republican politics, and school affairs; and printed materials concerning the Free Silver question and the election of 1896. The papers of Robert C. Campbell include diaries and University of Michigan student notebooks. Of interest are the notes he took from the lectures of John Dewey in philosophy, Henry Carter Adams in political economy, Burke A. Hinsdale in pedagogy, Joseph B. Steere in zoology, and A.A. Stanley in music, among other professors. The collection also includes high school notebooks of Carrie Read and E. Mabel Read.

This collection of visual images taken by Ella Fuller who was not a professional photographer provide a unique glimpse of daily rural life. Through her camera, Fuller recorded the activities of family and acquaintances. She had a natural talent to capture people as they were, at work and at play, thoughtful, interested in what they were doing. As May Davis Hill wrote, "The Fuller photographs provide an unselfconscious, direct view of rural life in a seemingly idyllic period. Reflecting a genre quality, the images record ordinary scenes from everyday life."

The Eugene H. Leslie Papers collection consists primarily of three series of correspondence: Alphabetical Correspondence Files, 1916-1964; chronological Correspondence Files (Outgoing), 1924-1958; and Chronological Correspondence Files, 1933-1952. The Francis W. Ouradnik collection consists of 421 black and white negatives of scenes from plays produced by the University Players (formerly Play Production) at the University of Michigan in the period of 1928 to 1968. Francis Ouradnik, produced the majority of the negatives. A partial listing of the plays, which he made, can be found with the negatives.

The collection has been arranged into three series: two series of negatives and a series containing positive photographs. The first series contains photographic negatives dated from 1928 to 1944 (32 photos), apparently not taken by Ouradnik. The second series, running from 1934 to 1968, numbers 389 negatives identified as being taken by Ouradnik. Each series is arranged chronologically with a very few exceptions.

All negatives and photographs are black and white, and only a few scattered copies are not identified by date. Ouradnik composed a list of his negative file of plays and a copy is enclosed with the collection. Only three productions for these years cannot be located. All there are for the year 1947: "In Spite of Heaven," "Candida," and "In the Zone."

The Frederick G. Novy collection documents the career and research interests of this noted bacteriologist, including information from the period of time when he was a member of the San Francisco Plague Commission (1901).

Within the correspondence, there are collected letters of Michigan Senator Charles E. Townsend, 1913-1914, and a letter from Benjamin R. Tillman concerning smoking in the U.S. Senate.
