The records of Hannah Lay Company have been divided into three series: Hannah and Lay Company Business Records and Hannah, Lay Mercantile Company, and Master Negative Microfilm.

The history of the arrangement and appraisal of the Hannah and Lay records has been fully described in an article in the American Archivist (Jan. 1976) by Larry Steck and Francis Blouin.

The Crapo papers have been arranged into the following series: Correspondence; Personal and Biographical; Political; Business records; and Miscellaneous (mainly financial). The collection relates primarily to the career of Henry H. Crapo with the files dating after 1869 pertaining to the business activities and political activities of his son W. W. Crapo.

In 1992, the bulk of the Crapo papers was microfilmed. This finding aid begins with a listing of the contents of the microfilm followed by a container listing of those portions of the collection which were not microfilmed. For reasons of preservation, the researcher should use the microfilm copy. Access to the original materials will be limited to the unmicrofilmed portions of the Crapo papers.

The record group includes minute books and other records of client businesses and philanthropic organizations. These include land and realty organizations, notably the Palms Realty Co. and the Ernst Kern Co. There are also financial records of the firm, including registers containing billing records and case activity logs; record of hours; and volumes of title opinions and abstracts.

The William A. Comstock papers document activities of a businessman/promoter and a Democratic Party functionary. Although the collection dates from 1902 to 1949, the bulk of the papers date from 1919 to 1932, the period of Comstock's primary business involvements. The collection has been arranged into five series: Correspondence, Other Papers and Records, Business Record Books, Diaries, and Photographs.
