The Allyn Ravitz collection includes subject files relating to her activities and to her overall interest in women's rights. Of especial interest are her files on the Feminist Federal Credit Union and her support of legislation to prohibit sex discrimination in credit practices. In addition to clippings and published material, the collection includes correspondence, organizational materials, certificates of appreciation, and miscellaneous.

Giese served as director of the Michigan Project on Equal Education Rights (PEER), a division of the National Organization for Women's Legal Defense and Education Fund, from 1978 to 1984. The collection also contains files on Michigan women in high school athletics, vocational education courses, math classes, and science classes. Other files relate to legal cases on sex discrimination, the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame, and all-male academies in Detroit.

The papers of Elizabeth Giese have been divided into six series: Biographical File, PEER Files, Subject Files, Legal Cases on Sex Discrimination, Women's Rights Organizations, Math and Science, and Vocational Education. The bulk of the material in this collection relates to the activities of Michigan PEER. However, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish materials related to Giese's role as a citizen, activist and consultant from materials collected in her official capacity as an employee of Michigan PEER. The organization of the collection occasionally reflects this fact. Some of the series, and some individual files, are organized around particular subjects, rather than Giese's professional or personal activities.

The Jean Ledwith King collection has been arranged into three series: Topical Files; Conferences and speaking engagements; and Organizational Activities. Files from court cases in which Jean King participated as attorney are not part of this finding aid. Such files, kept separate because of the presence of attorney-client privileged communications, are presently unavailable for research.

The collection contains oral history interviews, tribute statements, and photographs collected on the occasion of renaming the Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan after Jean Ledwith King and for the creation of a documentary, "The Power of One: Celebrating Jean Ledwith King," by John Owens.

The Jean Ledwith King Oral History Collection is composed of visual materials collected by John Owens to celebrate King's life and work in 2011, when the Women's Center of Southeast Michigan was renamed in King's honor.
