The Foundational documents include the constitution and materials relating to the founding of the Far East Association.

Governance files have been drawn together into the Secretariat and other administrative offices series. This series is further divided into chronological subseries. Unfortunately, there is much overlapping of dates and topics. In this series, the researcher will find board of directors and executive committee meeting files, correspondence and memoranda of the Association's presidents, secretaries, and other officers. Also included are committee files, grants, and miscellaneous office material. The language and area studies review files concerns professional organizations and projects. There are also meeting files of the Far Eastern Association and documentation of regional meetings and conferences.
