Battle Creek, Mich. historian and collector of rare books and manuscripts. Much of Lowe's research was devoted to the life and career of Black abolitionist Sojourner Truth. The collection contains material related to Sojourner Truth and includes biographies and bibliographies, book reviews, clippings, songs, images and photographs, etc. Other materials in the collection include letters of John G. Whittier, George W. Cable, correspondence of Lowe with writer Gerald Carson, diaries of Lowe's 1963 trip to Europe, as well as miscellanea and photographs.

The collection is arranged into two series. The Sojourner Truth (collected material) series includes biographies and compiled biographical information about Truth, bibliographies and book reviews, obituaries, tributes, newspaper articles, images of portraits, photographs, songs, and other information relating to the life of Sojourner Truth. Of special interest is a scrapbook that was kept by Frances Titus, Sojourner Truth's assistant.

Most of the Sojourner Truth files have been microfilmed except for a folder of material which came to the library after the 1965 filming. A few photographs that were microfilmed in 1965 were reported missing. These images are only available on the microfilm.

The Other Materials series contains items concerning Lowe's various activities and interests, including Battle Creek history and personalities, her travel diaries, and materials related to her friendship with writer Gerald Carson. Also included collected autographs and papers of individuals, including authors John Greenleaf Whittier and George Washington Cable. Also of note are letters of D. J. Van Schnell who wrote to members of the Oldfield family that contain watercolor drawings indicative of English life in the late 1930s and the early years of the World War II.

University of Michigan international social fraternity. The collection comprises of a partially bound photo album featuring photographs of Delta Tau Delta members at the 1912 Junior Hop, membership directories, and letters.

The records of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity comprise of a partially bound photo album featuring photographs of Delta Tau Delta members at the 1912 Junior Hop and six Delta Tau Delta membership directories. Also included five loose handwritten letters addressed to various members. Among these letters is a hand-drawn floor plan (possibly of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house).

The Earl V. Moore collection consists of the personal and professional papers of a noted musician, composer and director. Moore taught music at the University of Michigan from 1916 and served as director of the School of Music from1923 until his retirement in 1960.

The papers of Earl V. Moore document his career as professor and dean of the School of Music of the University of Michigan, as well as his career as a composer and performer. Though some of the papers and visual images date from the 1870s, the bulk of the collection dates from the 1920s through the 1960s. Consisting of three linear feet of papers and visual materials, the collection reflects Moore's many accomplishments as conductor, composer, lecturer, organist, and participant in professional societies.

The Moore papers have been divided into seven series: Biographical/Personal Materials, Correspondence, Topical Files, Newspaper Clippings, Musical Scores, Sound Recordings, and Visual Materials.

The T. Hawley Tapping collection includes material documenting his student days at the University of Michigan and University of Iowa, the Acacia fraternity and his work as consultant to f University in the Philippine Islands and service to the University of Michigan Alumni Association. The papers are arranged into three series: Correspondence; Scrapbooks; and Photographs.

Dance cards from various University of Michigan dances and social events, including the J-Hop, Freshman Frolic, and Michigan Union Formal.

This collection includes dance cards from 1888 to 1947 from various University of Michigan dances and social events. The bulk of the dance cards are from the J-Hop, including different dance cards from the same year. The collection also includes dance cards from both the Michigan Union formal and the Frosh Frolic. The dance cards have been organized by the event and date. In this finding aid, the date refers to the date the dance was held, not the class year of those attending the dance. Other dance cards can be found in various scrapbook collections at the Bentley.

The Shaw collection is an assemblage of personal materials such as correspondence, essays and student notebook, and of Shaw's work as an artists including drawings, etchings, and other examples of artistic expression that he used in connection with his work with the University's Alumni Association and its publications. Records of Shaw's activities with the university will be found in the record groups for the Alumni Association and the Bureau of Alumni Relations also located at the Bentley Library. The collection has been divided into five series: Correspondence, Essays, Drawings and Etchings, Miscellaneous, and Photographs and other Visual Materials.
